So a few more interesting items that have come to mind recently.
In talking to our regular cab driver, he is driving a Toyota Corolla, I asked the cost of filling the gas tank. his answer? 2.5KD's. 2.5KD is about $8.75 CDN. No wonder there are many huge SUVs over here!
On almost all of the roadways there are speed bumps, yep driving along a regular road, you will come to a speed bump. one little road nearby is about 200 yards long, it has 7 speed bumps. Apparently with a new cabbie who doesn't understand the area, you tell take the road, and once you go over the 7th speed bump, turn right.
Had a local call an escalator an "electric stairway" today. Likely a translation error, but I thought it was funny.
The main shopping mall here is open to midnight or 1:00am Saturday night I believe. This is an evening culture as it is to damn hot through the day. The result is, the mall is packed every evening.
That's it,. off to bed, first day of school tomorrow!
